Make-up Collections
A few years ago when we bought the lake house my ‘To-Be’ asked me if I had duplicates of my make-up to leave there. Make-up is expensive and it’s not a necessity so when I got myself out of debt I felt like I could occasionally buy myself some new make-up. I am willing to leave the house and work without make-up but I truly enjoy make-up. I enjoy the application process and trying out new products. It also makes me take note of myself and realize how pretty I am with or without the makeup.
I’ve found mounds of brands with varying price points. Last year I found Glossier, probably through some facebook ad. I was excited about the thought that make-up could be effortless. The hope was saving time and eliminating steps. I’m not sure if my hopes were achieved but I still really enjoy the collection. Effortless make-up is always the hope.
I now own almost the entire Glossier product line. I’ve enjoyed the skin care line and the make-up line. I’ve used some of what’s pictured below on my daughter for dance and some on myself.
I’ve really started focusing on my own skin care recently so using the Milky Jelly Cleanser and the Solution have been wonderful. I also bought the serum 3-pack a few months ago. While I like having options to switch out which serum, I think I still like my Image serum is better. The Glossier serums seem too watery to be really making a difference.
My last purchase was the 2 masks the moon mask and the galaxy mask. I’ve tried both (20 minute masks), I normally try my masks earlier in the evening and then wait until I head to bed (hours) to wash it off. Daily I use the Milky Jelly Cleanser and the Solution. The day after I used the moon mask I noticed how great my skin looked. So, I suppose I have a positive review of the masks.
As far as makeup goes I’ve really loved the boy brow, which is one of their top products. I use the boy brow on both my daughter for dance and my eyebrows daily. I never really thought I needed to fill my eyebrows. My eyebrows are full and I wax once a month. I will say I like adding some color back to my fair colored brows after I apply my foundation. I also love the coconut balm dotcom. Coconut balm dotcom is really my favorite item. You can use it on your lips and anything else that need moisture. In the winter it really helps for hands and cuticles. If I squeeze too much on my finger or have a left over residue on my finger after applying to my lips, I add it to my cuticles and hands and move on with my day.
The tubes of Cloud Paint have lasted a long time. Cloud paint is Glossier’s answer to blush. I’ve enjoyed trying the various color versions available. I use colors Dusk and Beam the most with my fair complexion. I will say that I love how a liquid blush sticks all day long. I fell in love with haloscope which is a glow/shimmer stick for your face. I use the moisturizer and the mascara almost daily, as long as it’s in my day bag of makeup.
I still use Image foundation which I love the texture of and the color match. For me powder is just well….powder, so Glossier’s Wowder wasn’t much of a special thing besides being named really well.
At the end of the day I really love using all the products. I love being able to order and have the products delivered to my door. I suppose not trying the colors is a draw back, but I have yet to find a color variation that I truly can not use on myself. I haven’t found a reason to complain about the line and the products. I truly love the fun bubble packs they ship in and my things are covered in their goofy stickers they send with every order. Now all my electronics are covered in Glossier’s stickers!
